Alone?
If you're
alone, there's no need to eat in your hotel room if you don't want
to! Although dining alone is an acquired skill, keep some of the
following suggestions in mind as you work at acquiring it.
When choosing
a restaurant, select a lively place, such as a bistro, cafe or ethnic
restaurant. It's fun to sit at the counter and watch your food being
prepared. Be selective about the table where you are seated, don't
accept one near the kitchen door or next to a table of lovers.
Also, experienced
solo travelers agree it helps to always take these items with you
to the restaurant: a book, postcards and stationery. Linger to write
letters, read a good novel or eavesdrop on your neighbors' conversations.
Finally,
tip well, as you are paving the way for the next woman who dines
alone in this restaurant. So, enjoy your dining experiences and
bon appetit!
