Being a guest on La Litote is one of the most wonderful ways to tour the northern and central parts of Burgundy, a masterpiece of the picturesque French countryside. Your itinerary includes the famous Chablis wine region, where you’ll have a private wine tasting. Highlights include: Auxerre’s famed Gothic cathedral, the handsome Renaissance Chateau of Tanlay, and the historic hilltop town of Vezelay, from which the knights of medieval Europe set forth on the Crusades.


Saturday,  Paris/Dijon/Vandenesse en Auxois    D
Meeting point: 11:30am at the Hôtel Regina in Paris. Transfer to the Gare de Lyon for the TGV high speed train to Dijon in 1st class seating .The Litote air conditioned motor coach is waiting to transfer you to the Litote, moored in the Village of Vandenesse en Auxois. You are welcomed aboard with champagne, presentation of the crew and a late afternoon cruise to the hamlet of La Repe.

Sunday, Vandenesse en Auxois/Chateauneuf en Auxois/Pont d’Ouche BLD
Morning we have an excursion to the elegant 15th century Chateau de Commarin. Still privately owned, the chateau is notable for its beautiful furnishings and a unique collection of Renaissance heraldic tapestries. Afterwards we pay a visit to the medieval village of Chateauneuf en Auxois before returning to Litote for lunch. This afternoon we cruise along the Burgundy canal to the village of Pont d’Ouche for overnight mooring. There is pleasant walking and cycling along the towpath.

Monday, Pont d’Ouche/Mersault/La Bussiere BLD
After breakfast, we drive over the hills of the Ouche valley to the famous wine producing town of Mersault. A visit to a private cellar has been arranged, with wine tasting and a chance to sample some of the most prestigious wines of this area. We return to Litote in time for a delicious lunch and then begin cruising through one of the most attractive stretches of the Burgundy canal to La Bussiere. We moor a short distance from the abbey which is well worth a visit.

Tuesday, La Bussiere/Dijon/Gissey sur Ouche BLD
This morning is market day in Dijon, capital of Burgundy and after a guided visit of the historical center, there is time to stroll through the picturesque covered market, the largest in Burgundy. We return to Litote and cruise to the village of Gissey sur Ouche.

Wednesday, Gissey sur Ouche/Pont de Pany/Hospice/Fleurey sur Ouche BLD
A morning cruise, passing through some delightful villages with lots of opportunities to walk or cycle along the towpaths brings us to Pont de Pany. After lunch, an excursion to Beaune, the wine capital of Burgundy and also home to the fabulous 15th century Hospice and its splendid glazed tile roof, the finest example of Burgundian/Flemish architecture in existence. We return to Litote moored in Fleurey sur Ouche.

Thursday, Fleurey sur Ouche/Velars/Plombieres/Clos de Vougeot/Dijon BLD
This morning we cruise through the small towns of Velars and Plombieres, passing alongside lake Kir before arriving into the port of Dijon, close to the heart of the city. This afternoon, an excursion to Clos de Vougeot where wine was being produced as early as the 12th century, followed by a private wine tasting. We return to Dijon and this evening is our farewell Gala Dinner on board.

Friday, Dijon/Paris B
After breakfast, transfer to the railroad station for the TGV train back to Paris
