PRICING, DEPOSIT & PAYMENT
All tour prices are per person based on double occupancy and are quoted in U.S. dollars. Single rates apply as stipulated. Rates are subject to change without notice. Once your deposit is received at Maupintour, the land portion of your vacation price is guaranteed; however, airfares are subject to change at any time.
- Deposit Date: Deposit must be received by Maupintour at time of booking in the amount set forth in the "Dates & Rates" section of your tour. Tour Cancellation Protection and Travel Insurance Plan fee is also due with your deposit.
- Final payment must be received in Maupintour's office at least 60 days prior to tour departure (120 days prior for Maupintour Waterways programs). Bookings may be cancelled by Maupintour if deposit or final payment is not received by due dates.
- Late Bookings: Reservations made within 60 days of departure require immediate full payment.
- Tour documents are issued after final payment and sent approximately 3-4 weeks prior to departure.
- A minimum number of participants is required to operate all escorted programs. Guaranteed departures are based on meeting the minimum required number of participants but can change subject to cancellations that result in the tour falling below the minimum participant level.
TOUR PRICE INCLUDES:
- Professional tour manager: Your tour manager accompanies you for the length of your escorted tour, beginning at the first hotel and including on-tour flights or cruise portions.
- Meals: Most meals are included as specified in the itinerary. Meal codes are: B=Breakfast, L=Lunch, D=Dinner. Meals are a variety of a la carte, table d'shote and buffet. Regional cuisines are frequently featured.
- Gratuities: Gratuities are included on international escorted tours for drivers, plus all expected tipping for luggage porters, bellmen, doormen, dining room waiters and sightseeing guides. Gratuities for the driver are not included on USA and Canada tours.
NOT INCLUDED:
- Transportation to the tour departure point and from the tour ending point is not included.
- Personal expenses, such as passport, visas, room service, phone calls, laundry, alcoholic beverages and optional activities.
- Maupintour Tour Manager Gratuity: The traditional end-of-trip gratuity to your tour manager is not included. Such gratuity should be extended on a voluntary, individual basis and not as a group.
- Government fees, which may include any and all fees, charges and taxes imposed by U.S. and/or foreign governmental authorities--including customs fees, head taxes, inspection fees, air taxes, departure taxes, immigration and naturalization fees and security taxes. Taxes and fees subject to change without notice.
ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE TRANSFERS:
Scheduled group transfers on international tours are set up for guests who have purchased our air/land inclusive packages for day of arrival and day of departure only. If you have made your own air arrangements and purchased land only from Maupintour, you are responsible for providing your arrival/departure transfers. On USA and Canada tours, unless otherwise specified in the itinerary, you must make your own arrangements from the airport to the first hotel where the tour starts and from the last hotel to the airport.
PRE OR POST HOTEL ARRANGEMENTS:
As a service, Maupintour will make reservations before or after your tour at most of our first and last night hotels, upon request. Reservations are on a space available basis and must be booked through Maupintour; charges will be added to your tour cost. Note: Airport transfers are not included for these reservations.
RESERVATION CHANGES:
A $50 per person fee will be assessed for each change to a tour or air booking plus any additional fees that may be charged by our suppliers. Changes in departure date, itinerary or passenger are considered a cancellation and a new booking. No change will be made unless permitted under the terms of our cancellation policy, even if you transfer to another departure.
CANCELLATION FEES:
Regardless of reason, cancellations are costly. To offset these costs, the following fees will apply. If you cancel, nonrecoverable expenses of our suppliers will be charged, plus the following per person charges:
Escorted and Independent packages
- 60 days or more: Forfeiture of deposit
- 59-30 days before departure: 50% of total package price per person
- 29 days or less & No shows 100% of total package price per person
Waterways and River Cruise packages
- 90 days & more: Forfeiture of deposit
- 89 days or less & No shows: 100% of total package price per person
Note: Cancellations must be made by 5:00PM Pacific time on the last business day of the applicable time period. Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays are not considered business days. Failure to check in for your flight two hours prior to departure may result in denial of boarding and a refund may not be granted in such an event. There are no refunds for unused/missed days. Travel insurance is strongly recommended.
MAUPINTOUR WATERWAYS TERMS & CONDITIONS:
Your cruise includes: Accommodations, all meals and use of all other onboard facilities. Transfers from designated pickup point to and from the vessel are included on most of our offerings. Some vessels will also include wine, alcoholic and other beverages. Most itineraries will include daily excursions; others are at additional cost. Inquire at the time of booking.
Not included in cruise cost: Airfare, airport transfers, passport/customs fees, insurance, hot air balloon rides, golf fees, gratuities for the crew, laundry or other items of a personal nature.
Cruise routes: Cruise itineraries and sightseeing excursions are subject to change without notice. In the event that flooding, drought, inclement weather or canal maintenance requirements by local authorities cause a vessel not to be able to operate as advertised, a comparable cruise program will be substituted. On alternate weeks, some cruises operate in reverse direction, but may vary due to occasional closings on the waterways for unforeseen circumstances.
Gratuities for the crew: Gratuities are optional and completely at the discretion of each guest. For those wishing a guideline, gratuities average five percent of the cruise price and are given to the captain at the end of the cruise for disbursement among the crew.
Age limit: To assure a relaxed holiday for all participants, most hotel barges request that guests be at least 18 years of age. Exceptions are made for groups chartering an entire vessel.
REFUNDS:
Maupintour cannot be responsible for delays or changes in air or other services, sickness, weather, strikes or other factors beyond Maupintour'ss control. Should an additional overnight be required due to any of these causes, the hotel, meals and associated costs will be the passenger'ss responsibility. Any refund owed to you will be made directly to your credit card account or to your travel agent. Refunds are made on the basis of savings recovered from non-use of hotels, etc. No refund will be made for any unused group services. No refund will be granted for missing sightseeing or meals, etc.
TRAVEL AND HEALTH DOCUMENTS:
Passport and visa requirements, as well as vaccination certificates and other health requirements for travel between your home city and your tour destinations, may change from time to time. It is the sole responsibility of the passenger to consult with the appropriate consulates to determine if any visas are needed, and with medical personnel to determine what health precautions and documents are necessary, and to obtain and have available when necessary the appropriate valid travel and health documents. Compliance with travel documents and customs regulations are the tour participant'ss responsibility. For non-U.S. citizens, a multiple entry visa will be required for some tour itineraries. Maupintour accepts no responsibility for failure to notify travel participants of customs's and immigrations's laws or health requirements. Passengers who do not have proper documentation may be prevented from boarding a flight, without refund of the fare, and will be subject to any cancellation fees, fines or other costs, including those incurred by Maupintour, that result from the lack of proper documentation. Please consult your physician for pre-departure health advice.
MEMBERSHIP ON TOUR:
Maupintour reserves the right to accept, reject or not retain any person as a tour participant whose condition or general deportment impedes the operation of the tour, or affects the rights or enjoyment of other passengers. A refund of unused tour services is the limit of Maupintour'ss liability if a person is required to leave the tour.
TRAVELERS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS OR DISABILITIES:
Any individual traveler or tour participant who requires special attention or accommodations due to a physical or mental impairment must notify Maupintour at the time of booking. Failure to timely notify Maupintour of special needs will result in a person'ss inability to participate in a particular trip or tour. The failure on the part of any tour participant or traveler to disclose physical or medical restrictions, or the need for special accommodations, at the time of booking may also result in the denial of a refund, all in accordance with Maupintour'ss current refund policy. Tour participants and travelers should be aware that carriers, hotels, restaurants and other independent service or public accommodation providers located outside of the United States are not subject to the Americans With Disabilities Act ("ADA"). Moreover, Maupintour cannot guarantee that hotels, restaurants and other independent service or public accommodation providers located in the United States with whom Maupintour deals will operate in full compliance with the ADA, or are required to do so. Maupintour is in no way responsible for the denial of goods and services, in whole or in part, by any such providers and makes no representations regarding the accessibility of any facility utilized on any trip or tour, whether in or outside the United States. Although Maupintour will make reasonable efforts to accommodate the special needs of tour participants and travelers who reveal special needs at the time of booking, the ADA does not require Maupintour to alter the content of the goods and services it typically provides. Maupintour regrets that it cannot provide individual assistance to tour members or travelers for walking, dining or other personal needs. Persons requiring assistance with their personal needs may wish to consider having a companion accompany them. Maupintour reserves the right to reject any traveler (or not retain any person as a tour participant) who poses a direct threat to health or safety or cannot meet eligibility criteria for a trip or a tour or any part of a trip or a tour. Maupintour reserves the right to withdraw from planning any traveler'ss trip or alter itineraries should it become necessary or desirable, or to cancel any tour prior to departure, all in accordance with Maupintour'ss policies further described below under the heading "Responsibility."
ADA POLICY FOR AMERICAN ORIENT EXPRESS:
The American Orient Express was refurbished before the American Disabilities Act; and, therefore, it does not comply with ADA standards. Certain safety regulations affecting the design of the train may cause difficulty for persons with limited mobility. The carriages cannot accommodate wheelchairs or most walkers. The hallways in the sleeping carriages are 18" wide, and doorways leading into the cabins are 23" wide.
LUGGAGE:
Handling of two (2) pieces of normal-size luggage is included on international tours and one (1) piece for domestic tours. However because of some on-tour airline restrictions, we encourage you to bring only one normal-size piece of luggage. Smaller handbags, overnight cases or flight bags should be carried with you. Airlines allow a maximum of two (2) checked bags plus one carryon free of charge. Dimensions are based on length plus height plus width: two bags at 62" each (not to exceed 70 lbs. each) plus one carry-on with total dimensions of 45". No responsibility is accepted by Maupintour for loss of or damage to luggage or any other belongings while in custody of any airline, coach company or hotel. Travel insurance is strongly recommended.
