Although our suitcases are unpacked and my travel journal is complete, I have not fully shaken off that "on vacation" feeling. I have long wished to visit Italy... So many years of longing and now the memories are with me. My husband and I took a tour mainly upon my urging. I did not want to deal with the wasted time of planning, finding our way and arranging travel both between and within cities. Our decision was not made without reservations, however. Would our tour manger be a daily dictator of regimented activities? Would he coldly disseminate bits of cursory information? Our doubts were put to rest immediately.
