Day 1 - Departure day
Depart on your overnight flight to Reykjavik, Iceland.
Day 2 - Reykjavik/Immediate room occupancy
Super Jeep Safari Upon your early morning arrival, transfer to the Nordica Hotel located just a short walk from the sea, overlooking miles of rugged scenery and only a 10 min walk to the shopping street Laugavergur. Rooms are booked from the prior night to insure immediate occupancy. Later in the afternoon after you've had time to freshen up and relax, enjoy a Super Jeep Safari. This popular winter tour will take you to the mountains surrounding Reykjavik and will give you a first hand experience of the Icelandic winter landscape where you will witness the magnificent power of the nature. This half-day excursion introduces the specially designed and equipped Icelandic Super Jeep. It will be put to the ultimate test to cope with the terrain. We head towards the 395 meters of high mountain, Ulfarsfell with its magnificent view over Reykjavik. We continue along the pipeline road via Hengill towards the power station, Nesjavellir, where we will learn all about the trembling power of the earth. From there onwards to Grimsnes passing the interesting hydraulic stations by the river, Sogie. Finally we stop at the greenhouse community Hveragerei before returning via the mountain Hellisheiei to Reykjavik.
Day 3 - City Tour of Reykjavik
This morning enjoy a half day city tour of Reykjavik, includes all of the most significant sights in the capital and its surrounding towns such as the Presidential Residence at Bessastadir, the Restaurant Perlan and Hofoi House. You will be also visiting the town of Hafnarfjordur, home of elves and humans alike, a fishing harbour, fish market (when it's open), the towering Hallgrim's church, the University district, the old town center with the Parliament Building and the New City Hall by the pond with it's many birds.
Day 4 - New Year's Eve celebration
New Year's Eve, well make reservations for the evening at the internationallyrecognized Perlan, a revolving restaurant built on a hilltop with 360-degree views of Reykjavik and its surrounding hills and woodland. After dinner enjoy an evening tour to watch bonfires all over the city and then back to the Perlan to ring in the New Year and for your vantage point which offers exceptional views of the extraordinary fireworks, which last for hours and fill the horizon over Reykjavik. All citizens of the city participate in a fireworks fund, resulting in this most spectacular, needs-to-be-seen-to-bebelieved display.
Day 5 - Happy New Year!/Blue Lagoon
Farsaelt Komandi Ar! Today after sleeping in, what better way to begin your New Year than with a trip to the Blue Lagoon. The Blue Lagoon has become world known for its healing properties, especially for people who suffer from skin diseases. The mineral contents of the water have been examined by experts who have declared the combination to be excellent for bathing, curing and relaxation, yours to enjoy on your own.
Day 6 - Return home
Morning is free (depending on your flight schedule) before your early afternoon transfer to the airport and return flights to the US.
