Arrive sea-side San Diego and make your way to the delightful and deluxe, The Westgate Hotel. Your hotel is in the heart of downtown, facing the Horton Plaza Shopping Mall and one block from the popular Gaslamp Quarter. Day 2 Sunday, Dec 21
San Diego/Balboa Park’s Museum of Art
This morning, sightseeing takes you around San Diego, through the Gaslamp District, the Old Town, and famous Balboa Park with its museums, restaurants and family activities. Tour the San Diego Museum of Art, best known for its Spanish Old Masters painting collection and enjoy luncheon in the Park. Remainder of the day is free time. THE WESTGATE HOTEL.

Day 3 Monday, Dec 22
La Jolla/Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institute of Oceanography
It is a short drive to ocean-side La Jolla and Scripps Institute of Oceanography for your guided visit to the Birch Aquarium. The aquarium is known for its work in raising marine animals to support and preserve their natural population. Luncheon is in La Jolla, to enjoy locally fresh seafood. Day 4 Tuesday, Dec 23
USS Midway/California Ballet production
At the Navy Pier, visit the USS Midway, the longest serving aircraft carrier of our country, commissioned in 1945 as the largest ship in the world and ending active service in 1992 with the liberation of Kuwait. The USS Midway has over two-dozen restored aircraft and helicopters in her hanger bay and on the flight deck. The afternoon is free to browse shops and investigate central San Diego on your own. Day 5 Wednesday, Dec 24
Temecula Valley vineyards/Christmas Eve entertainment
Depart this morning for a fun-filled excursion to Temecula Valley, the southernmost wine region in California, for a guided tour and wine tasting at Thornton Winery. The chateau-style winery produces both premium wines and champagne. Christmas Eve is a traditional feast and celebration, An American Christmas, performed by the Lamb’s Players Theatre. Day 6 Thursday, Dec 25
Whale watching cruise/San Diego Zoo
Merry Christmas! The morning is set aside for a memorable whale-watching cruise, looking for Gray whales as they migrate to the warm Baja waters for calving. Spend the afternoon at the world-famous San Diego Zoo, which cares for more than 4000 animals, including the rare California Condor and Giant Pandas from China.
