Itinerary

Day 1 - Fly to Siem Reap/Sightsee Angkor Thom
Upon arrival into Siem Reap, visit Angkor Thom, a fortified Royal City (10 square kilometers), built by King Jayavarman VII. The city has five monumental gates and is encircled by a moat 100 meters wide. In the center of the walled city are the most important monuments including Bayon, Baphuon, The Terrace of Elephants, the Terrace of the Leper King and Phimeanakas. The Phnom Bakheng hilltop ruins provide one of the best views of Angkor Wat at sunset. SOFITEL ROYAL ANGKOR RESORT & SPA

Day 2 - Angkor Wat
Today's explorations are the highlight. Visit the renowned ancient Khmer temple group, which includes Angkor Wat ("wat" is the Thai word for "temple"). This amazing temple was constructed over a period of 37 years 250,000 workers and was dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu by King Suryavarman II. Angkor Wat features the longest bas-relief in the world, which runs along the outer gallery walls and narrates stories from Hindu mythology. In 1992, UNESCO declared the monument and the whole city of Angkor a World Heritage Site. It was virtually unknown to the outside world until 1860, when French botanist Henri Mahout stumbled upon the site in the jungle. Visit Les Chantier Ecoles, a vocational center that trains apprentices in the arts and crafts of stone sculpture, woodcarving, polychromie, to watch the artisans at work. Day 3 - Return Home
After breakfast this morning, transfer to the airport for your return flights home.
